Let's go, RAMS!

Wicomico County Robotics Club is back up and running! They are meeting every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon from 3 till 6 PM at Parkside High. See you there!

Wicomico County Public Schools and the Wicomico County Board of Education extend their condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of former Superintendent of Schools William T. "Bill" Middleton III. Mr. Middleton served the school system for 40 years and continued to serve his community and public education long after his retirement.
Originally hired as a member of the summer paint crew and then as a teacher, Mr. Middleton held a number of positions with the school system, retiring after serving as Superintendent of Schools from 1995 to 2002. He was also a renowned auctioneer, and for many years hosted Travelogue presentations.
We are thankful for the many years he spent with Wicomico County Public Schools, from his time as a student in Pittsville to his years as superintendent.. Learn more about Mr. Middleton: https://www.hollowayfh.com/obituaries/William-T-Bill-Middleton-Iii?obId=45393379

Start with Hello Week at Parkside!
This week, we’re celebrating the national Start with Hello campaign, and we have some fun activities planned just for you! Our Rambassadors will be visiting lunch tables to invite you to sign cardstock that will come together to create a giant HELLO sign.
Be sure to grab a “Hello, my name is” sticker to wear and help spread the friendly vibes.
Want a chance to win an awesome prize pack? Stop by the front table and see Mrs. Sprankle or Mrs. Hughes for details on how to enter the drawing.
Challenge yourself this week—start a conversation with someone new by simply saying Hello. Let’s make Parkside a friendlier place, one hello at a time!
Today they were on the 1st lunch shift. They will be on the 2nd shift on Tuesday, 3rd on Wednesday, and 4th on Thursday.

One week till tickets go on sale!!!

Earlier this week, the RAMFAM wore yellow and yellow ribbons for World Suicide Prevention Day. Here is the message we relayed to our students.
Today is World Suicide Prevention Day. It’s a time for us to pause and remind ourselves that every life matters, and every person here makes a difference in our school community.
You’ll notice many people wearing yellow today. Yellow is the color of hope, support, and connection. By wearing it, we’re showing that no one is alone, and that it’s okay to reach out—for yourself or for a friend.
If you or someone you know is struggling, please remember there are people here who care. Our counselors, social workers, and teachers are ready to listen and help.
Let’s keep looking out for one another, not just today but every day. Together, we can make our school a place where kindness and support shine.

Let’s get out there this week to support and cheer on our RAMS!!!

Students in Mrs. White and Mrs. Zanette's classes have been working on their monthly theme of apples which has included a STEM activity launching apples, as well as making an apple dessert to celebrate. Thank you White and Zanette for making learning about apples both fun and interesting!

While the score might not have ended up in our favor, it was still a great night to be a RAM last evening! Thank you to everyone who came out to support our Parkside Rams Football team, our Parkside Marching RAMS, our Parkside Cheerleaders, and Parkside! Our Parkside PRIDE was on full display and we're so proud of how well Parkside was represented! We will need everyone back out there this coming Thursday night at County Stadium when JMB hosts us. Let's go, RAMS!!! 💚🤍🐏🏈🐏🤍💚

Yesterday, the Parkside CTE Level 1 Child Development Students helped to introduce some of the outdoor play equipment to the Prince Street RAM Lambs during recess. It was a beautiful day to enjoy the sunshine and get some exercise!

Yesterday, the students in the first round of ATEX Child Development Associate Program got the opportunity to partner read with the Prince Street RAM Lambs. We love the Prince Street RAM Lambs and that our students get to work with them!

Have you checked out our eBulletinBoard on our website recently? It features flyers from the school system and community for a wide range of activities and services for families. Visit the eBulletinBoard on our website or on any school website by clicking the eBulletinBoard button under the home page photo gallery. Flyers may be submitted for review on that page as well.
Here are five of the current flyers from nonprofits, government agencies and health care organizations. You'll find many more at https://www.wicomicoschools.org/o/wcps/page/ebulletinboard#/

Friday Night Lights – Parkside vs. Easton
We are excited for another great night of Varsity Football this Friday, September 12th, at 6:00 p.m., as the Parkside Rams take on the Easton Warriors at Wicomico County Stadium.
New for This Season: Weapons Detection Screening
As part of Wicomico County Public Schools’ ongoing commitment to safety, we will be using weapons detection systems at Wicomico County Stadium. This process is designed to identify and prevent unauthorized or harmful items from being brought into our events.
Please note:
All spectators will be screened prior to entry. Removing items from pockets will be required.
Bags are subject to search, and large bags are not permitted.
This process may cause some delays at the gate — we suggest that you get their early (gates open at 5) and ask for your patience as we implement this important safety measure.
Restroom Procedure Update
There has been a change in the restroom procedure at Wicomico County Stadium. To better assist with crowd management, the restrooms located in the back of the field house will be closed. Portable restrooms will be available near the concession stands.
If you or a member of your family need restroom access due to handicap needs or small children, please notify a member of the event staff, and they will do their best to accommodate you.
Additional Game Day Information
To help everyone enjoy a safe and smooth Friday Night Lights experience, please review the following:
Weapons, tobacco products, outside food, and beverages are not permitted.
Students in middle school or younger must be accompanied by an adult to enter.
Tickets must be purchased in advance through GoFan.co. No cash will be accepted at the gate.
Can’t make the game? Watch it live on fan.hudl.com.
The Wicomico County Board of Education and Wicomico County Public Schools thank you for your support as we work together to provide a safe, family-friendly Friday Night Lights experience. We look forward to seeing you at the stadium.
LET'S GO, RAMS!!! 💚🤍🐏🤍💚
