Good evening RAMFAM! This is your principal, Brian Briggs, with some important announcements. We’ve had another great week here at Parkside, home of the RAMS. We just found out that our Parkside Marching RAMS finished 1st in their division and had the highest overall score in their first competition of the year. We also had a great week of Parkside sports, and I couldn’t be more proud of how many we had show up for our first home night football game of the season. We packed County Stadium to cheer on our football team, cheerleaders, and band and showed everyone what being a part of the RAMFAM really means.
We also had a great week in the classrooms and hallways. Our students are receiving high quality instruction and they are highly engaged in their classrooms. Parkside prides itself on making sure that our hallways are orderly and safe. We will continue to do so and thank you for your support with this. I saw less dress code violations this week and I appreciate your support with this. Please continue to remind your child about the dress code so we can keep them in class and not being pulled from class so they can change their clothing and lose valuable time in the classroom.
We will have picture day on Friday, September 29th. See below for the order form.
On Wednesday, October 11th, we will be administering the PSAT to all 10th graders and any 9th or 11th grade students who signed up and paid to take the PSAT. All other 9th, 11th and 12th grade students will not attend school that day but will instead complete asynchronous work at home through their Google Classrooms. Teachers will assign work for them to complete at home for that day. If your student has difficulty accessing the internet, please have them request a paper copy of the assignment from their teacher. Students taking the PSAT test that day will be exempt from asynchronous assignments. More information will be forthcoming regarding pick up times for test takers on October 11th and bus departure times for those students who need to ride a bus home.
