Good evening RAMFAM! This is your proud Parkside principal, Brian Briggs. We had another great week here at Parkside and here are just a few highlights:

·        Congratulations to our Parkside Marching RAMS for putting on an amazing Delmarvacade of Bands last evening. Our Marching RAMS put on another great show finishing first in their division while having their highest score of the season. Wicomico County was able to see many great performances from high school bands, as well as the Mighty Sound of Maryland, the University of Maryland Marching Band. Shout out to our Parkside Band Boosters, our Parkside Band parents, and Mr. Jon Adams and his staff for putting on such a wonderful event for our community where the fine arts were displayed!

·        Our Parkside Sports teams continue to finish up their regular seasons and prepare for the playoffs.  Logan Newton repeated as Bayside Girls Cross Country Champion. After winning it last year as a sophomore, Logan came back and won it again. She is the first back-to-back Parkside Girls Cross Country champion in its history! Congratulations Logan! Our Boys Soccer team won their home semifinal game on Friday and will host the 2A East Region Final on Tuesday afternoon at 3:30.  Our volleyball team won the Bayside South title and will host Queen Anne’s tomorrow evening in the Bayside Championship. Their playoff run will then begin at home on Wednesday. Addison Apolenis was the only RAM to qualify for the Maryland High School Golf Championship and will be playing Tuesday at the University of Maryland College Park Golf Course. Keep up the great work Parkside student athletes! We appreciate all the support that our families and friends show for our student athletes!

·        Shout-out to Mrs. Cornish and CTE SkillsUSA for putting on a successful Trunk or Treat and Happy Hollow Halls Friday evening. We love putting on events for our local community!

·        Thank you to our Parkside Counseling Team for a great Maryland College Application Campaign week! They were able to work with lots of Parkside Class of 2025 students to help them get ready for the college application process. In addition, we also had a Wor Wic College admittance day where tons of RAMFAM got accepted into Wor Wic College!

·        Shout-out to our Parkside Orchestra for putting on a great show for our local elementary schools (and our Prince Street RAM Lambs) this week! Again, we love to highlight our talented Parkside students while also helping the community and local schools!

Updates/Reminders:

·        We are interested in starting up a Parkside CTE PTO (Parent Teacher Organization).  If you are interested in this as well, please reach out to Andrea Miller at amiller@mywcps.org

·         Our Parkside Step-Up after school program continues this week and will run Monday through Thursday most weeks from 2:45 till 4:45.  This program offers tutoring, enrichment activities, and attendance intervention plan make up time. Transportation is provided if needed. See your grade level Google Classroom to sign up and for more information.

·         Just a reminder that if you stop by school during the day to pick up a student or drop something off, please do not pull into the bus ramp by the CTE and Parkside front offices. This area is dedicated to our CTE busses who transport students from the other schools to our CTE program. Please park in a parking spot or you can temporarily park in the first lane where cars can pull up.  Thanks for your attention to this matter.
