From Mr. Soisson and his AP US History class yesterday: Each student was assigned a celebrity to research from the 1920s. Celebrities included Al Capone, Calvin Coolidge, Mitchell Palmer, etc... The goal was for them to be able to share information about their celebrity while hanging out at the local speakeasy. Drinks (Hawaiian Punch) were provided while they mingled and learned about each celebrity. Shout-out to Mr. Soisson for always making US History interesting and exciting for his students!

Parkside students took advantage of a Junior Achievement JA EMPOWER Field Trip today at the Talbot County Recreation Center in Easton, MD. The career fair-style event provided practical guidance for life after high school, whether students were exploring career opportunities, higher education, or military service. Thank you, Career Coach Reed, for setting this up.

From our amazing orchestra teacher, Mrs. Sarah Burton: Here's my happy crew of musicians. I am so proud of them. We received two Excellent and two Superior ratings at Festival today. Their growth over the last few weeks has been phenomenal. Not only did they work well together on the stage, they were extremely helpful working behind the scenes to make the day run smoothly for everyone else. I am so lucky to get to work with these people every day. Congratulations to our Parkside Orchestra, and thank you, Mrs. Burton, for your leadership!

We’re extremely proud of the following Parkside wrestlers for being selected to the 2024-25 National Wrestling Coaches Association and U.S. Marine Corps Character & Leadership Team. To be chosen a wrestler must be a Junior or Senior varsity wrestler and exhibit those character and leadership traits that the Marines are looking for in young men and women such as commitment, perseverance, loyalty, and work ethic. Congratulations to everyone selected. Well deserved. 💪

Parkaide CTE CDA (Child Development Associate) Level One has completed their study on infant development.  As a culminating event, the students competed in baby Olympics and were given a baby to care for for 48 hours. While we have some sleepy students, the life lessons were undeniable. Shout out to our PAC member Melissa Eiler and the WCBOE Early Childhood Department for supporting us with the investment in Real Care Babies.  We could not be more thankful for this hands-on learning opportunity.
